PRESS RELEASE

Xona and Lockheed Martin Strengthen PULSAR™ Through Enhanced Collaboration

Burlingame, CA - Aug. 22, 2023 -- Xona Space Systems Inc., a pioneer in navigation technologies from Low Earth Orbit (LEO), is excited to announce a collaboration with Lockheed Martin.

Through this collaboration, Lockheed Martin and Xona will work together to protect Xona’s PULSAR services in accordance with military-grade security practices.  “While Xona’s business is commercial, we are all aware of the national security importance of a modernized global navigation system, and consequently such a system requires the same level of protection that would be afforded other critical national infrastructures,” said Steve Kyle, Senior Manager for Cyber Innovation at Lockheed-Martin.
The effort will be used to accelerate and refine the development of critical PULSAR features such as signal security and license management in preparation for Xona’s first production satellite launches in 2024. “Service protection is a priority for end users that depend on trusted and secure navigation signals for mission-critical applications,” said Jessica Hulsey, director of government services at Xona. "Through this relationship, we hope that Lockheed-Martin's expertise and support will help provide this solution to our PULSAR customers.”

Lockheed Martin Ventures first participated in a fundraising round for Xona led by First Spark Ventures in late 2022.
