Xona issued Patent on LEO PNT Technology
Xona Space Systems is pleased to announce the issuance of US Patent No. 11,513,232, entitled, “Satellite for Broadcasting High Precision Data.” This patent describes a high-performance, space-based position, navigation, and timing (PNT) system enabled by a constellation of Low-Earth Orbiting (LEO) satellites. This architecture is the backbone of Xona PULSAR – a high-performance navigation and timing service that offers unparalleled PNT accuracy, security, and availability for end users.
As an early pioneer in LEO PNT technology, Xona submitted its first of many patent applications back in 2019 when a LEO PNT architecture was a novel solution to meeting the navigation needs of many modern applications, at scale. In 2021, the company demonstrated its technology in ground tests, and in 2022 the company launched its first demonstration satellite for further tech validation. This new patent is part of a broader international filing program pertaining to a wide range of navigation satellite technologies. Xona’s portfolio of pending patents includes filings directed to over two dozen distinct inventions. The company looks forward to sharing more of its patent issuances as they become publicly available.
