Xona Co-Founder Receives ION Early Achievement Award

Burlingame, CA - Xona Space Systems Inc., a company building the next generation of satellite navigation, is delighted to announce that Xona co-founder & CTO Dr. Tyler Gerald René Reid received the 2023 Per Enge Early Achievement Award for his outstanding innovations in the development of low Earth orbiting (LEO) satellites for providing an enhanced global positioning service. The Per Enge Early Achievement Award is presented in recognition of outstanding contributions made early in one’s career.  ​The award recognizes Tyler’s work in commercial satellite navigation in LEO which began as a student at Stanford University and has culminated in the founding of Xona Space Systems who is making the technology a reality where Xona launched the first ever commercially funded LEO PNT payload into orbit.  ​The ION presented the annual awards during the ION International Technical Meeting (ITM) and Precise Time and Time Interval Systems and Applications (PTTI) meeting in Long Beach, California on January 25, 2024. ​The ION Annual Awards Program is sponsored by The Institute of Navigation to recognize individuals making significant contributions or demonstrating outstanding performance relating to the art and science of navigation. ​InsideGNSS has provided a full writeup of the eight award categories and winners on their website: https://insidegnss.com/the-institute-of-navigation-ion-names-2023-award-winners/
